These last 48 hours have been nothing short of dramatic. This past Monday, we marked the half-decade milestone of the PS5 and Xbox Series X consoles with a tournament to decide the top exclusive title of this console generation. We presented eight PS5 games and eight Xbox Series X games to compete against each other, all heading towards a final showdown where the leading contender from each platform would go head-to-head. We've witnessed some incredibly close calls in the first two rounds, particularly the extremely tight polls from the previous day. Now, it's moment to decide the leading PlayStation and Xbox titles before the championship on Thursday.

The PS5 Side

For PlayStation 5, we have the giant-slayer, Astro Bot. Maybe it should be no surprise considering that it took home the top prize at last year’s Game Awards, but its victory over God of War Ragnarök seems like a major shock. But to get to the finals, it'll have to go through the MVP of the PlayStation 5 era: the acclaimed developer. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 had a smooth path to the final four, defeating Ghost of Yōtei and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart (another Insomniac game!) to land in the semi-finals. Can Spidey topple a beloved PlayStation icon, or is he destined to become a chibi cameo in the upcoming Astro Bot title?

The Xbox Series X Side

The Xbox Series X side has been even juicier. Coming out on top from a diverse lineup of contenders is Forza Horizon 5. It's a big victory for the racing adventure title already, proving that a more specialized genre game earns to be on the same pedestal as traditional jump-and-run games and cinematic action-adventure games. Its last roadblock en route to the championship is a big one, though. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle has shown itself as a fan favorite, beating acclaimed titles like Pentiment and Hi-Fi Rush. Can it beat a much bigger game from an well-known franchise that's closely tied to Xbox itself? If anyone can pull that off, it's probably Indy.
