The Two Sergeants Instants Prior to the Aggressor Received Electric Shock

A ranking policeman who rushed to the help of a partner who was ambushed by a blade-wielder has been awarded the Royal Recognition for Valor.

Sgt Tim Ansell fought with twenty-seven-year-old Jacob Brown after he pressed a knife to the neck of his fellow officer Sergeant Marc Foster.

Brown launched his attack as the policemen and their third officer, Police Constable Marcus Wolstencroft, were conversing to a driver subsequent to a vehicle incident in Whalley Range in summer 2023.

Brown attacked with blade the two Sergeant Ansell and Sgt Foster prior to PC Wolstencroft stunned him with a Taser.

"Policeman knifed," the officer stated over his communication device.

Officer-mounted and dashboard camera video shared by the police department revealed Brown, who was dressed in dark clothing with a head covered, rush to Sergeant Foster from the rear with a knife pointed forward.

He collided with the policeman who tripped and fell to the pavement, after which Sgt Ansell jumped in and tried to wrestle him to the pavement although being repeatedly struck with the weapon.

Police Constable Wolstencroft deployed his electric weapon and awaited a open target, ending the confrontation to an conclusion.

Sergeant Ansell was heard stating: "Can I get something on my throat now, I've been stabbed in the throat."

Sergeant Ansell sustained multiple open wounds to his throat and additional wounds to his limbs and torso, while Sgt Foster suffered slash wounds.

The department reported Sgt Foster employed his hands to stem his colleague's hemorrhaging before paramedics came.

The latest recognition comes subsequent to the three officers won organizational Valor Recognitions in October 2023 and the prestigious bravery honor from the local officer association in April 2024.

They were also awarded a Regional Bravery Award in summer 2024.

"The responses of all three officers in the end saved themselves and meant no civilians endured any injuries."

Brown was given to an indefinite hospital order in spring 2024, as stated by officials.
