Blunders From World Heads of State When They Think They're in Private
Recently, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto believed he was a confidential discussion with US President Donald Trump during Middle East peace talks in Egypt.
However, a live microphone situation captured Prabowo requesting Trump to organize a call with his son Eric, who hold positions at the family business.
This was just one in a string of gaffes committed by world leaders when they assume they're off the record.

Transplant Procedures and Immortality
During a defense ceremony in Beijing this September, China's leader Xi Jinping and Russia's head Vladimir Putin were overheard discussing organ transplants as a method for extending lifespan.
"Human organs can be continuously replaced. The longer you live, the younger you become, and you can even achieve immortality," Putin's interpreter was recorded stating.
Xi, who was off camera, answered in Chinese: "Experts forecast that in this century people may live to 150 years old."

'Water Lapping at Your Door'
Ex-Australia border protection chief Peter Dutton came under fire in 2015 when he made light about the situation of people in the Pacific facing ocean encroachment.
Dutton was conversing with former PM Tony Abbott, who had recently come back from environmental talks with regional heads in Port Moresby.
Noting that a meeting about refugees was running on "delayed schedule", Abbott responded: "We had a similar situation up in Port Moresby."
Dutton commented: "Time doesn't mean anything when you're about to have water lapping at your door."
The comments provoked anger from regional nations and environmentalists, while the political opponents demanded Dutton to issue an apology.

'Bigoted Woman'
While serving as UK PM Gordon Brown was campaigning in 2010, he faced a constituent who questioned him on immigration and the economic situation.
Still wired up to a broadcast microphone when he entered the car, Brown was recorded stating: "That went terribly – they should never have put me with that individual. Who thought of that? Ridiculous."
When questioned about she had said, he replied: "Everything, she was just a prejudiced person."
The scandal received extensive coverage for an extended period and Brown went on to lose the political race.
'I Cannot Bear Netanyahu. He's a Liar.'
Former US president Barack Obama was in conversation at the G20 summit in Cannes in 2011 with then French president Nicolas Sarkozy when their remarks about Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu were picked up by a live microphone.
Sarkozy stated: "I can't stand Netanyahu. He deceives."
Per a account from a French interpreter cited by Reuters, Obama replied: "You're fed up with him but I must work with him more often than you."
'Major League ***hole'
A vintage recording incident from then US presidential candidate George W. Bush occurred when he made a negative comment about a reporter from The New York Times.
The GOP candidate was didn't realize that a recording device was active when he turned to Dick Cheney at a political event and remarked, "That's Adam Clymer, complete jerk from the New York Times."
Cheney answered: "Absolutely, he is, definitely."
