In a bizarre crossover event that challenges traditional forecasts, the game developer has announced an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, offering no-cost bonus story content for Shadows players.

Mysterious Adventure Disclosed

According to the official announcement, "A strange confrontation draws heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a original adventure, where hints of banned ceremonies and fearsome metamorphoses reverberate through the obscurity." The narrative presents a "strangely garbed woman named Ada" who assigns the characters with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to save her ally from a secret cult.

The questline concentrates on "strange tests and a fearsome adversary" and is accessible to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.

Recognizable Places and Metamorphoses

The teaser showcases the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was formerly where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The teaser ends with a powerful scene showing a character, presumably the captive, transforming into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.

Unique Rewards and Additional Content

Players who accomplish the adventure will receive an unique katana alongside numerous objects concealed throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also contains purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, including:

• Titan-inspired outfit for Yasuke
• Mikasa costume for Naoe
• Special weapons
• Survey Corps steed

Third Free Story Update

This update also brings the game's third no-cost story content, titled "A Puzzlement." This playful adventure pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they swap signature skills: Naoe debuts a dramatic variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires subduing stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Mystery" also features a new environmental puzzle that may ultimately explain some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

The series formerly included a 2020 collaborative story connecting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
